We are so excited to have all our Tiger Sharks return!
Even though this season is going to be quite different, we are all willing to make those changes in order to have our swim league succeed.
Practices won't start until high school water polo is complete.
With that, we most likely wont get in the water until the end of May.
Also, we will only have dual swim meets and they will be held on the week day evenings. Parents are not going to be permitted on the pool deck during practices and are asked to social distance during drop off and pick up. All coaches and swimmers must wear a face covering unless swimming. All spectators are required to wear a face coverings during swim meets and will not be permitted on the deck without one. Spectators are only allowed on the pool deck when your child is swimming. You must exit immediately after your child swims. We ask that everyone comply with these new protocols so this season can run as smooth as possible.

My name is Vanessa Sequeira. I am 34 years old, work in education, and really excited to get back into a passion that I had growing up... swimming! I started swimming at the age of 8 years old for Firebaugh FAST, then Dos Palos Dolphins, and DPHS. I previous was a coach for Dos Palos and Firebaugh.
I decided I am in place in life where I am ready to take on this fun adventure of coaching again, and introducing my own children to the world of competitive swimming.
Coaching comes with multiple responsibilities, dedication, and I can’t wait to see the outcome this season as your head coach.
Night meets will last 2 to 3 hours. Swimmers will have to check in with coaching staff 1 hour prior to start of meet. The top OVERALL swimmers 1-8 in each event will receive ribbons the following week.
Swim meets typically take about 5-6 hours when there are only 2 teams participating. Invitationals and Championship days can run up to 9 hours depending on what events (strokes) your child is swimming. We ask that every swimmer checks in with a coach an hour and a half before swim meets. If not, your child will be scratched from the entire swim meet.
Swim meets can get very warm, so please bring shade for your family. Most families bring a pop-up a canopy with chairs and blankets, ice chest with water, fruit, and healthy lunch items. No chairs or canopies on the pool deck. Snack bars will not be provided this 2021 season. Sunscreen with SPF of 30+ should be applied every 2 to 3 hours to prevent sunburn. It is important to stay hydrated so bringing water with electrolytes is recommended.
We are not positive we will have a championships this 2021 season. If we do, it will be the top swimmers only. We will keep everyone posted.
Pre-covid: Championships is a 2 day meet with each swimmer swimming at least 4 events. A swimmer qualifies for Championships by attending just 4 swim meets during the current season. If a swimmers is in the top 8 overall, in a specific stroke in their age group, they will advance to finals at the end of the day. These swimmers will be announced by name over the speaker. The finalists will receive medals for top 3 and ribbons for 4-8. High point winners will receive trophies, as well as the top 3 teams.
